Manhunt – Room 7 Manaiakalani Film Festival Movie

Our Year 6 students in Room 7 came up with the idea for the movie. Students were put into groups to brainstorm ideas for our film festival movie. There was a class vote and Manhunt was the winner. We filmed in 3 different locations and had a lot of fun creating this movie. Check it out here and please leave a positive comment.

Team 4 Immersion Movie: Make It Work

Today we had an immersion assembly in the hall where each Team throughout the school shared what their team would be learning about this term. Our school wide inquiry focus is called: Make It Work. It is all based around problem solving, design thinking and creating solutions for real world problems. This is our Team 4 movie which is all about the process of design thinking. There are 5 main parts to design thinking which include how to ‘Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test’. Our focus question and main problem in Team 4 is: ‘What can we design and create to improve our Team 4 outdoor area?’

Team 4 Term 3 Immersion Movie: Fit For Purpose and Growth Mindsets

Here is a movie created by the teachers of Team 4 for our Immersion Assembly at the start of Term 3. This terms theme is called Fit for Purpose. Team 4 will be exploring what it means to have a growth mindset. Our Focus Question is: How can we think, act and be positive? Check out our movie!

Room 7 Term 2 Changes Matter Movie

In Term 2 our school wide theme was called ‘Changes Matter’ and the Focus Question in Team 4 was ‘How do changes to materials occur and why?  What are Physical & what are Chemical changes? Team 4 conducted experiments and learnt about how a state of matter changes from one state to another (e.g. liquid to a solid). Students created animations using an online animation programme called Photopea to share their understanding of the topic.

Manaiakalani Film Festival – I Believe

Kia ora everyone! Welcome to Room 7s class blog! We are a class of Year 6 students at Pt England School.

Last term we explored the arts which included visual art, dance, drama and music. We looked at the different ways that we could convey our feelings and emotions through the arts. We learnt about what it means to have a growth mindset and how negative or positive thoughts can affect our feelings and emotions. Our movie reflects some of the themes that we  explored last term. It is also a reminder that having good friends in our lives is very important. Take care of your friends, be kind to others and believe in yourself because you are special and you are amazing!

Thank you for visiting our class page and for watching our movie for this years Manaiakalani Film Festival 2022.
